B J P One of the election promises and a long standing demand is that the Ram temple of Ayodhya should finally be dedicated to the nation in January 2024. In January, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself participated in the consecration program of Ramlala in the grand Ram temple. Apart from him, many celebrities from India and abroad had reached Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh to participate in the program. But, have you ever wondered why the color of Ramlala’s idol is black?
During CNN-AnyTV’s Rising India Summit on Tuesday, Ram temple architect Ashish Sompura and historian and jewelery designer of Ram Lalla idol Yatindra Mishra discussed the Ayodhya temple. When asked why black stone was used for the idol of Ramlala, Mishra said, ‘Three idols were made, one of which was of white and one of black stone. Ultimately the black idol was selected. This decision depended on the trust. However, I believe that the idol for the temple was selected by Lord Rama himself. I don’t think there was any political compulsion.
