Jaipur , Gayatri Rathod, Principal Secretary, Tourism Department, while giving instructions to the officers said that the budget announcements should be implemented and pending cases should be disposed of at the earliest so that they can be completed within the stipulated time frame. He said that for this, everyone needs to work in a coordinated manner with a sense of dedication. He said that there is immense potential for tourism in the districts of the state, identify them and prepare a plan to develop them so that new tourist circuits can be developed in the state. Along with this, all the officers should make an action plan and develop these tourist places completely in the stipulated time and taking full care of the quality.
Under the chairmanship of Smt. Rathod, a virtual meeting was held with the in-charges of the subordinate tourism offices in the Government Secretariat on Thursday. He said that tourism is an important sector. It has an important role in the economy of the state, directly and indirectly. Presently, various activities in this sector are increasing at a rapid pace. In such a situation, effective monitoring should be done by the officials.
Tourism director Nishant Jain said that to take the tourism of Rajasthan to the country and the world, branding of tourism activities will be done through effective media campaigns, social and digital media, attractive creatives and short films. He has also directed the officials to prepare an effective detailed outline in view of the upcoming fairs and festivals and to take the cooperation of tourism experts and local people.
The tourism director said that tourism has been given industry status in the budget announcement. With this, soon people associated with the tourism industry will start getting concessions on industrial rates from the concerned departments. Orders have also been issued in this regard by the Energy Department. He said that this benefit would be given after the certificate issued by the department. This entire process will be online.
In the meeting, the progress of the work being done for the restoration of forts, palaces and stepwells of the state was reviewed. Along with the implementation of budget announcements, budget proposals, progress of pending schemes of the department, current status of proposals for new tourism circuits, MoUs and LOIs done by the department, industry status to tourism, guide training programmes, compilation of tourism statistics, information about festivals. Rebranding, website, mobile app and regular updates of social media were discussed.
