New Delhi. Just a few days ago, there was doubt about the return of Indian team’s star batsman Rishabh Pant, who was injured in a car accident, to play in the Indian team. Now news is coming out that Rishabh Pant is likely to stay away from cricket for most of 2023. Even he is hardly seen playing on the field for at least the next 6 months. He has already been ruled out of many big tournaments including IPL. Rishabh Pant was seriously injured in a car accident on 30 December, in which his knee was badly injured. If the ESPNcricinfo report is to be believed, the medical update given by the BCCI states that the wicket-keeper batsman has suffered three major ligament injuries in his knee, two of which have undergone surgery, while the third one is scheduled for six weeks from now. While there is no definite timeline given by the doctors regarding Rishabh Pant’s recovery as to how long it will take for Pant to resume training, both the BCCI and the selectors have concluded that the wicket-keeper batsman will be out for at least six months. Will be out for Pant, who last played a series on the Bangladesh tour in December, was told to rest the home series against Sri Lanka.
