He has won the Richmond and Northallerton seat in Northern England by 23,059 votes.
Sunak resigns as leader of the Conservative Party
Rishi Sunak has resigned as the leader of the Conservative Party after the crushing defeat in the election. He told the people that I have heard your anger, disappointment and I take responsibility for this defeat, Sunak described his rival Keir Starmer as ‘a decent public-spirited person’. Sunak has congratulated Starmer.

Keir Starmer of the Labour Party, who is going to become Britain’s new PM, won the Holborn and St Pancras seat. On the victory of the Labour Party, 61-year-old Starmer said, ‘I will be your voice, I will support you, I will fight for you every day.’ Starmer gave a victory speech on Friday morning after the victory. In this, he said that the country has “got its future back after 14 years (of Conservative Party government).”
