New Delhi/Ghaziabad/Meerut. The people of Delhi-NCR have got a big gift just before Rakshabandhan. After a long wait, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation i.e. NCRTC finally opened the Meerut South RRTS station for public service. On Sunday, the Namo Bharat train has started running from Meerut South Station. Along with the common people, the businessmen and traders of Delhi and surrounding areas are expected to benefit a lot from this. This will save a lot of time for the people who travel from Meerut to Delhi NCR or Delhi NCR to Meerut daily for work and work. Free from the hassle of traffic jams, people will be able to come and go from Meerut to Ghaziabad in just 30 minutes. By next year, Meerut will also be connected to Delhi through RRTS.

NCRTC opened Meerut South RRTS station for passengers on Sunday. NCRTC said that with the addition of this 8 km corridor, 42 km of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is now operational. It now covers 9 stations from Sahibabad in Ghaziabad to Meerut. Namo Bharat trains will run on the entire section from Sahibabad to Meerut South from 6 am to 10 pm. The first train from both sides will leave at 6 am and the last train will depart from the terminal stations (Sahibabad and Meerut South) at 10 pm.

NCRTC said that the one-way concessional fare for Namo Bharat trains will be Rs 110 for standard class from Sahibabad to Meerut South and Rs 90 for Ghaziabad to Meerut South. NCRTC said that Meerut South RRTS station will provide the largest parking facility in Uttar Pradesh along the RRTS corridor, which will increase passenger convenience. Two parking slots on both sides of the station (entry and exit points) are spread over about 13,000 square meters. About 1,200 vehicles can be parked here. Apart from this, separate parking has been provided for auto-rickshaws. The station has been designed to facilitate easy pick-up and drop-off for vehicles coming from both Meerut and Delhi.

Meerut to Ghaziabad in 30 minutes
NCRTC said that Meerut South station serves as the gateway to Meerut. This will make travel easier for passengers from Mohiuddinpur, Bhudbaral, Bahadurpur, Aminagar, Chhajjupur, Kharkhoda, Kadarabad and surrounding areas. With the start of Namo Bharat train service from Meerut South RRTS station, passengers will be able to reach Sahibabad (Ghaziabad) in about 30 minutes. Apart from RRTS trains, the station will also provide local metro services for the Meerut region. The station has three tracks on three platforms – two for RRTS trains and one for metro services. Officials said that the entire 82 km long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor will be operational by June 2025.
