Rupee-Dollar Update: Rupee has fallen to the lowest level against the dollar. The rupee showed a historic fall at the end of trading in the currency market on Wednesday. The rupee fell by 19 paise to close at Rs 79.04 against a dollar. It is at record low levels for the last six consecutive days. Earlier on Tuesday, the rupee fell by 46 paise to 78.83 per dollar. The reason for this is the continuous withdrawal of foreign capital from the market and the rise in crude oil prices. Let us tell you that this year the rupee has slipped by more than 5.8 percent.
Credit card spending crosses 1.13 lakh crore
Credit card spending in the country increased by 7.61% on a monthly basis to cross the Rs 1.13 lakh crore mark in May. In April this figure was 1.05 lakh crore. The increase in spending through credit cards means that economic activities are gaining momentum in the country. According to the data released by RBI, 7.68 crore credit card holders in the country spent about Rs 71,429 crore in online purchases.
Tata Motors commercial vehicles will be expensive next month
Tata Motors announced to increase the prices of commercial vehicles from July 1. According to the information sent by the company to the stock exchanges, the prices of commercial vehicles of all models will be increased by 1.5-2.5%. The input cost has increased over the past few months, the company said. The company has taken several steps to bear the burden, but some of the burden has to be passed on to the customers.
