Russia Ukraine Coflict: As the war between Russia and Ukraine is intensifying. Countries around the world are facing different types of concerns. The biggest challenge before India is the safety of its 18,000 citizens trapped in Ukraine. Since Ukraine’s airspace has been closed due to air strikes, it has not been easy to evacuate Indians from there. On the other hand, the pressure from family members and state governments to rescue them is increasing. Apart from this, problems related to oil prices and supply may also increase. In such a situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called a high-level meeting this evening to discuss the issue. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Cabinet Secretary and others will be present in this meeting.
On the other hand, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Russia-Ukraine war that the situation is odd, there is no doubt about it. But India wants peace and it should be resolved through dialogue. Regarding Indian citizens and students, he assured that the government is taking all possible steps to keep all Indians safe and evacuated.

Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said the Ministry of External Affairs is taking steps to bring back around 18,000 Indians, including students, from Ukraine. The airspace in Ukraine is closed, so alternative arrangements are being made to evacuate Indian nationals. The central government will ensure the safety of all Indians. At the same time, the Indian Embassy in Ukraine has asked Indian citizens to stay safe wherever they are. The embassy is open and making all possible efforts to evacuate Indian nationals.
