Bill passed banning oil imports
The US House of Representatives passed a bill banning oil imports from Russia. The sanctions announced by the president in response to the Russian attack on Ukraine are paving the way for them to be converted into law. Apart from banning oil imports from Russia, the bill also includes a review of Russia’s status in the World Trade Organization. 414 votes were cast in favor of this bill while 17 votes were against. Now it will be sent to the Senate for approval. With the ban on oil imports, there is also the risk of rising gas prices in the US.
