Moscow. Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development has said that it expects the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) to decline 7.8 percent year-on-year in 2022. A representative of the ministry told reporters that investment in fixed assets could decline by 19.4 per cent and retail by 8.7 per cent.
The ministry expects the unemployment rate to rise to 6.7 percent from last year’s 4.8 percent and the real disposable income of Russians to decline by 6.8 percent, Xinhua news agency reported.
Inflation is likely to rise to 17.5 per cent in 2022, from 8.4 per cent in 2021.
