DA Hike in West Bengal : State governments have started increasing the dearness allowance of their government employees. The newly elected government of Sikkim had announced a 4 percent increase in dearness allowance in its first cabinet meeting on Monday night. After this, today on Tuesday, the West Bengal government has also given this gift to its employees. The West Bengal government has announced an increase in dearness allowance i.e. DA. The state government has increased the DA of government employees by 4 percent.
DA will be applicable from 1st April
This increase in DA has been implemented from 1 April 2024. The government has issued a notification regarding this. Along with DA, Dearness Relief i.e. DR has also been increased by 4 percent. Pensioners will benefit from this. It was told in the notification that the increase in dearness allowance will be applicable from 1 April 2024 instead of 1 May 2024.
DA increased to 46% in Sikkim
The Sikkim government has also increased the dearness allowance by 4 percent. This increase in DA has been implemented from July 1, 2023. With this 4 percent increase, the dearness allowance and dearness relief of Sikkim government employees and pensioners has increased to 46 percent. This increase in DA will have an impact of Rs 174.6 crore on the state treasury in the current financial year. The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha government took this decision in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang.
