Jaipur. The Sanjay Circle police station of Jaipur North District took major action against gambling and betting and raided six different places in the area on Monday. In this action, the police arrested 10 gamblers and bookies and seized a total gamble-board of Rs 19,650 from their possession.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Jaipur North Ralash Doody Dagga said that for some time, there were frequent complaints of gambling and betting in public places. Taking this seriously, this action was taken on the instructions of Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph and Additional Commissioner of Police Kunwar Rashtradeep.
Under the campaign, teams were formed under the direction of Assistant Commissioner of Police Anup Singh and the leadership of police station in -charge Hariom Singh. These teams took action at six places simultaneously and caught ten people red -handed while gambling and betting on the spot. Cash being used in gambling and betting was recovered from the arrested accused.
Police say that the campaign against such anti -social elements will continue even further. Monitoring and strict action will be taken to keep public places gambling-free.
