Sarangpur. A four-day saint camp for contemplation on religion, knowledge and devotion was organized in Sarangpur under the guidance of His Holiness Mahantaswami Maharaj. About 700 saints participated in this camp. The Sant Camp was started on 24th April and concluded on 27th April. Sant Samagan Camp was organized with great enthusiasm for four days in Sarangpur.
BAPS i.e. Bochasanvasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha is a spiritual, volunteer-run fellowship dedicated to improving society through personal development by promoting the Hindu values of faith, service and global harmony. From time to time many programs are organized by the organization. The foundation of this institution was laid by Lord Swaminarayan in the late 18th century. Later in the year 1907, Shastriji Maharaj formally established it.
People of Swaminarayan sect follow Bhakti sect. Swaminarayan sect believes that man cannot be saved without taking refuge in a saint. BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha today has more than 1200 temples across the world, of which the largest number abroad is in America. There are more than 800 temples of Swaminarayan organization in India, including small and big ones. Recently, a temple was built by the same organization in the Muslim country UAE, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February this year.
Earlier, the historic Pushpdolotsav was celebrated in Sarangpur last week in the presence of His Holiness Mahantaswami Maharaj. About 75,000 devotees from India and abroad had reached Sarangpur to take advantage of this Pushpdolotsav. Lord Swaminarayan had purified the land of Gujarat by organizing Pushp Dolotsav at various places like Vadtal, Garhpur, Sarangpur, Ahmedabad. This event is celebrated every year in Sarangpur in his everlasting memory. His Holiness Pramukhswami Maharaj used to celebrate the festival of Pushpdolotsav with great pomp every year in Sarangpur, memories of which can be seen even today. While giving blessings, he used to say that everyone is colored in the colors of the world, but we have to be colored in the colors of God.
