NCP Chief Sharad Pawar’s nephew Rajendra Pawar has refused to accept the state government’s Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Ratna Award. The award was distributed in the hands of Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. He did not participate in the prize distribution function in Nashik. Rajendra Pawar said that Koshyari had made objectionable statements about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Jyotiba Phule, so he did not want to take the award from their hands.
Rajendra Pawar said, the awards will be distributed from the hands of the Governor. I would like to take this award not from the hands of the Governor but from the office of the Agriculture Department. The governor is such a person who made statements about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Jyotiba Phule without knowing it. He disturbed the peace of the state.
Let us inform that this award is given by the Agriculture Department of the state to the people doing excellent work in this field. Rajendra Pawar’s name was selected for the award in the year 2019 itself but since then the ceremony could not take place due to COVID 19. Rajendra is the son of Sharad Pawar’s elder brother Appasaheb Pawar. Rohit is the son of Rajendra Pawar. He is presently an MLA from Karjat Jamkhed Assembly.
In February, the governor had said about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj that if he had not had his guru, he would not have been able to do anything. He had said, who would have known Shivaji Maharaj without a capable Guru Ramdas. He was telling about the importance of teacher in life. In March, Koshyari was caught in a new controversy. A video of him went viral in which he was talking about child marriage. He said, Savitribai was married at the age of 10 and her husband was 13 at that time. What would the boy and the girl be thinking after marriage at that time?
