Deepotsav on Mahashivratri: From 12 noon onwards, lamps will be lit

Ujjain (Naiduniya Representative). Preparations are on in full swing to set a world record for simultaneously lighting 13 lakh lamps on Mahashivratri (March 1) in Dharmanagari Ujjain. All diyas will be lit between 7 pm to 7.15 pm. For filling oil in the lamps, 17,593 volunteers registered for wicking have been called 6 hours ago at 12 noon by the collector at the ghat. Who will light the lamp in which block has been decided. Municipal Commissioner Anshul Gupta says that this will be the world’s largest zero waste event. The name of the event will be Shiv Jyoti Arpanam. While 13 lakh diyas will be lit at the ghats, 21 lakh diyas will be lit in the entire city.
In the sequence of preparations, about 5 lakh diyas block wise were deposited at Dutt Akhara Ghat, Sunhari Ghat on Sunday. 225 diyas are stored in a block. On Monday, the remaining 8 lakh diyas will be installed block-wise at Ramghat, Narsingh Ghat, Guru Nanak Ghat. It has been said that the team of Guinness Book of World Records will cover the entire event with a drone camera by playing hooter at 7 pm. The number of lamps lit in a period of 15 minutes will be announced this evening. A certificate for becoming a world record will also be given. It is noteworthy that at present the record of lighting the most lamps at one place is in the name of the city of Ayodhya. There on 3 November 2021, 9 lakh 41551 lamps were lit. This record will be broken if 13 lakh lamps are lit simultaneously in Ujjain.
Know why so many lamps are being lit
Municipal Commissioner and Executive Director of Smart City Company Anshul Gupta said that the program named Shiv Jyoti Arpanam is being started to highlight the excellence, talent and united participation of the city. Shiv Jyoti Arpanam Mahotsav aims to establish Ujjain on the world stage in terms of tourism and branding Ujjain to establish its collective spirit to enable progress and uniqueness. Shiv Jyoti Arpanam Mahotsav will be held on the lines of world’s largest zero waste program.
CM will also be involved, the whole city should be decorated like a bride
Many leaders and enlightened people including Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will participate in the Deepotsav. For this the whole city is being decorated like a bride. The administration claims that 21 lakh lamps will be lit in the entire city on this day. Lamps will also be lit in all temples, public places and government premises. The public representatives have called upon all the citizens of the city to light five lamps each at their respective homes and establishments. Thousands of people have also filled the resolution letter for this. Volunteers are registered through QR code app. Special identity cards are being given to all.
Where will the many lamps be lit?
Mahakal temple 1 lakh 51 thousand, Magalnath temple 11 thousand, 10 thousand at Kalabhairav temple and ghat, Gadkalika temple 1100, 6000 at Siddhavat temple and ghat, 5 thousand at Harsiddhi temple, 1 lakh at Tower Chowk, 2 lakh lamps at other public places The administration has claimed to be ignited. It is said that there are 1 lakh 4 thousand houses in the city. If even 5-5 diyas are lit in half of these 50 thousand houses, then 2.5 lakh diyas will be lit.
He got registered to be part of the world record
2913 from colleges, 1210 from private schools, 3090 from government schools, 1023 from National Service Scheme, 552 from sports and youth welfare, 513 from pilgrimage priests, pandits and akhadas, 56 from Kshatriya Maratha community, 285 from Kayastha community, 285 from Kayastha community 30 are included. 95 from Rathor community, 120 from Gujarati community, 100 from Sindhi community, 173 from Agarwal community, 1027 from social organizations/groups/NGOs/social welfare groups, 1300 from coaching institutes, 111 from professional organizations, 900 from political parties, and 4000 have been registered from Panchayat and volunteers from rural areas.
25 thousand liters of oil will burn
If 20 ml of oil is filled in a lamp, then about 25 thousand liters of soybean oil will be burnt to light 13 lakh lamps.
Hence Zero Waste: Big Diya (Color Box) will be made by collecting all the Diyas.
The question is, what will be the use of such a large number of lamps. And if there is oil left in the lamp, what will be its use? The Municipal Corporation has given the answer that after the Diwali festival, all the lamps will be collected and made the world’s largest lamp. The oil will be used to make food items for the cowshed. Chairs, benches, utensils etc. will be made in the garden using 14000 empty oil bottles. So this will be a zero waste event.
Devotees will be able to observe Deepotsav only after 8 pm
Collector Ashish Singh has said that devotees will be able to observe Deepotsav only after 8 pm at places like Ramghat, Datta Akhara Ghat, Narsingh Ghat, Sunhari Ghat etc. Therefore, there is an appeal that the devotees should reach the Ghats only after 8 o’clock so that they do not face any inconvenience. Because before this the entry will be restricted. Only registered volunteers and officers and employees looking after the system will be given entry.
The festival will be bathed only at the hungry mother and Karkaraj Ghat.
Due to Shiva Jyoti Arpanam festival, devotees will be able to bathe in the confluence water of Narmada-Shipra only at Bhukimata Temple Ghat and Karkaraj Ghat. Bathing facility will not be available at other ghats.

Deepmalika at Shipreshwar Mahadev Temple
The lamp will be decorated by Veer Hanuman Jankalyan Seva Sansthan on Mahashivratri at Shri Shipreswar Mahadev Mandir Ghat located near Narsingh Ghat. Temple priest and pilgrimage priest Pt.Jassu Guru Maharaj and Pt.Nilesh Guru told that on Tuesday, Deepmalika will be decorated by worshiping Lord Shipreshwar Mahadev Abhishek in Twilight Vela. After the Maha Aarti, Khichdi Prasad will be distributed to the devotees.
Chaurasi Mahadev’s Rangoli at Tower Chowk
Rangoli of Mahakal temple and Chaurasi Mahadev will be decorated at Tower Chowk by Petrol Pump Association. There will be live telecast of Mahashivratri festival on LED screen. Attractive electric lights will also be done with rangoli and flower decoration.
