Kanchenjunga Express derailed
The shocking reason behind the train accident in Darjeeling district of West Bengal has come to light. Railway employees were alerted a few minutes before the accident. Despite this, gross negligence was observed and the Kanchenjunga Express train met with an accident. 10 people died and more than 60 people were injured in this horrific train accident. The new information that has come to light about the negligence in the accident has raised many questions.
The memo was issued at 8:05 a.m.
The new information that came out about the accident said that the railway had already informed the loco pilots (drivers) of both the trains about the fault in the automatic signal system between Rangapani station (RNI) and Chatrahat station (CAT). The railway had also issued a written note i.e. memo at 8:05 am on Monday regarding the fault in the signal at these two stations.
Memo issued to both trains at different times
Memos were issued to both trains at different times. This memo was issued to Kanchenjunga Express at 8:20 am on Monday. The same memo was issued to the goods train at 8:35 am. This memo was issued to both trains by Rangapani station master.
The accident happened just 50 minutes later
A memo was issued to both the drivers regarding the signal fault at 8:05 am on Monday and just 50 minutes later, a speeding freight train hit the Kanchenjunga Express from behind. The Kanchenjunga Express had just crossed the Rangapani station at 8:55 am when the train got derailed after being hit by the freight train. After the accident, there was a lot of commotion at the accident site.
When is the memo given?
Let us tell you that in case of a note (memo) by railway employees, the loco pilot is allowed to cross all red signals when the automatic signaling system is not working. In such a situation, the question arises that even if the driver of the goods train did not get the memo, he had to stop the train for one minute at every faulty signal. During this time, the speed of the train had to be kept at 10 kilometers per hour. This was not done by the driver of the goods train and the accident happened.
