Sikh leader Ripudaman Singh Malik was shot dead in Surrey Canada. He was shot at 9 am on Thursday. At that time he was going to his office. Let us inform that Ripudaman Singh’s name came in the 1985 Air India bomb blast case. However, he was acquitted in this case.
According to The Indian Express, CBC News quoted witnesses as saying that three shots were heard. In the attack, 75-year-old Malik has injury marks on his neck. Media reports quoting local police confirmed that shots were fired at around 9.30 am local time and he died on the spot.
1985 plane blast: Ripudaman Singh Malik, Inderjit Singh Rayat and Ajaib Singh Bagri were among the prime accused in the blast in Air India Flight 182, Samrat Kanishk, a Boeing 747 aircraft. Which was going from Montreal to Delhi on 23 June 1985. All 329 people on board were killed. Most of the passengers were Canadian citizens of Indian origin.
Malik was facing trial in Canada for a long time in the Air India Kanishka bomb blast case. However, he was acquitted in the case in 2005.
Praised PM Modi: Earlier this year, Ripudaman Singh Malik praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a letter, he expressed his gratitude by praising the steps taken by the Modi government for the Sikh community. It is believed that because of this Malik was killed.
In fact, before the Punjab Assembly elections earlier this year, Malik had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this letter, he thanked PM Modi for the steps taken by the Modi government in the interest of Sikhs. He praised the various actions of the BJP, including reopening the 1984 Sikh riots cases. Apart from this, he also warned against a planned attempt to defame the Prime Minister.
