Sri Lanka Latest Update: Curfew lifted in Sri Lanka, President Rajapaksa can go from Maldives to Singapore today, one death in violence so far, 45 injured

The situation in Sri Lanka is getting worse due to the economic crisis. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has fled the country to the Maldives amid protests. According to the latest information, Gotabaya Rajapaksa has not yet resigned from his post. After leaving the country without resigning, violence was witnessed again in Sri Lanka on Wednesday, due to which curfew was imposed. Acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe, however, lifted the curfew.

There is news that Gotabaya Rajapaksa can go to Singapore from Maldives today. Let us tell you that after his decision to leave the country, there was more protest in Sri Lanka due to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe becoming the acting President. However, protesters today expect the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

45 injured, 1 killed during demonstration: At least 45 people have been injured in a clash between police and protesters during a raid on Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s office. These people have been admitted to the hospital. Apart from this, there is information about the death of one protester. Local media said a 26-year-old protester, who was hospitalized due to tear gas, had difficulty breathing, which led to his death, Reuters news agency reported.

Rajapaksa can go to Singapore today: Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who has fled from Sri Lanka, can leave Singapore from Maldives today. Private jet has arrived in Maldives to pick up Rajapaksa. On the other hand, to stop the protesters in Sri Lanka, the government has now launched armored vehicles on the road. In fact, till Thursday morning, the protesters had taken possession of the Prime Minister’s office. However, the army’s attempt to rescue him has failed.

Let us tell you that there is a strange political situation in Sri Lanka. In fact, while Rajapaksa has not yet submitted his resignation, after his departure from the country, his colleague and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has taken over the chair as the acting President.
