Kolkata: While hearing the case of rape and murder of a female trainee doctor in a government hospital in Kolkata, the Supreme Court said that an eight-member National Task Force is going to be formed. The court said that the Cabinet Secretary of the Government of India, Home Secretary, Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Chairperson of the National Medical Commission National Board of Examiners will also be included in the task force.
Apart from this, the court said that a task force of ten doctors is being formed. They will consult all the stakeholders. The court said that a national consensus should be developed in this. Therefore a national task force has been formed with the following.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court said that the task force will consider the safety, well-being and other related matters of medical professionals. A national plan will have to be prepared to prevent gender-based violence and for the respectful working of intern, resident and non-resident doctors. The committee will also submit its report on these subjects.

- Baggage screening is required to prevent the entry of weapons.
- If a person is not a patient then he should not be allowed to exceed a limit.
- Security to control the crowd.
- There should be rest rooms for doctors and gender neutral places for doctors, nurses to rest.
- Biometrics and facial recognition should be there in such areas.
- Proper lighting in all areas, CCTV installation at all places.
- Transportation arrangements for medical professionals from 10 pm to 6 am.
- Organizing workshops to deal with grief and crisis.
- Quarterly audit of institutional security measures.
- Establishment of police force in accordance with the number of people coming.
- The POSH Act applies to medical establishments, so an ICC must be constituted.
- Helpline numbers for emergencies of medical profession.
The task force will give suggestions on these things
The task force report will give suggestions on how to ensure the safety of doctors and health workers in hospitals. It will give suggestions on how to ensure the safety of hospitals, facilities like rest rooms, washrooms etc. for doctors, CCTV etc.
