The Supreme Court has given an important decision while hearing the controversy over the Gyanvapi Masjid. The court said that the place where the ‘Shivling’ was found should be sealed and given full security. While ordering the district administration, the top court said that the place of Shivling should be given full security, but due to this the prayers should not be interrupted. With this, the Supreme Court has fixed Thursday for the next hearing. The Supreme Court said in its decision, ‘Till the next hearing, we order the DM of Varanasi to protect the place where the Shivling meets, but Muslims should not face any problem in offering Namaz.’
Supreme Court refuses to stay survey of Gyanvapi Masjid
Along with this, the Supreme Court has refused to stay the survey of Gyanvapi Masjid. The top court said that the trial is going on in the lower court in this case, so the decision of the district court should be waited. During this, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the UP government, said that the UP government needs their help on some issues. In the Supreme Court, the Anjuman Intejamia Masjid Committee challenged the order of the Varanasi Court to conduct a survey, under which videography of the premises is being done.
The lawyer of the mosque committee reminded the Places of Worship Act
Advocate Ahmadi, appearing for the committee, during this time demanded from the top court that it should stay the survey and appointment of court commission in this matter. He said that status quo should be ordered in this matter. Referring to the Places of Worship Act, he said that the status quo was mentioned in Section 3 of it.
