After the second wave of corona subsided, the state government has announced to relax the already implemented controls. In such a situation, entrepreneurs and businessmen have expressed hope that business will come back on track in the coming days. Especially the leaders of the textile industry, considered to be the main axis of the economy of Surat, believe that the situation of Corona is improving in other states including Gujarat. In such a situation, when the market opens there, demand will arise from December and the sluggishness of the textile business in Surat will end.
Meanwhile, the state government has provided some relief to the people of various industries in the last two days. The state government has also given some other relief from property tax to the hotel and restaurant industry. Inspired by this, there has also been a demand among the textile traders of Surat that like hotel-restaurants, financial relief should be provided to the textile traders.
According to a report, Tarachand Kasat, Vice President of All India Federation Delhi has written a letter to Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and BJP State Chief CR Patil, demanding relief to the textile entrepreneurs. He says that due to the slowdown in the textile industry, many traders are turning to other work. The local textile business has been in the grip of a severe recession for the past two years. In the present era of economic adversity, it is becoming a difficult task for the businessmen to meet the rent of shops, wages of employees and other regular expenses. Textile traders have been bearing losses for a long time. Such a government should give relief to the textile businessmen like hotel-restaurants – property tax, electricity bill, GST refund, relief in government tax are such aspects in which relief can be provided to the businessmen.
