New York. Will the Indian batting lineup in the T20 World Cup remain the same as it was against Ireland or will there be any change in it? Was Rishabh Pant playing at number three an experiment or is it part of a fixed plan? Indian team’s batting coach Vikram Rathod has made many revelations related to this. He said that Rishabh Pant will continue to bat at number three in the T20 World Cup. Rathod also expressed happiness over the performance of a fully fit Hardik Pandya. Pant and Pandya have returned to the Indian team through IPL. Both are playing international cricket after a long break.
India defeated Ireland by 8 wickets in the first match. Both Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya played an important role in India’s victory. Vikram Rathod said after the match, ‘Pant is batting brilliantly. He batted well in both the matches (practice match and Ireland match). At present, he is the number three batsman for us and he is benefiting from being a left-handed batsman. Rishabh Pant played an unbeaten innings of 36 runs in 26 balls against Ireland.
Team India’s pain: Rohit was playing a shot, suddenly the ball bounced and gave him a deep injury, he had to retire
Playing his first match after October 2023, Hardik Pandya took three wickets for 27 runs in four overs. Pandya’s ankle was twisted in Pune against Bangladesh in the World Cup 2023. Due to this, he was out of the Indian team. After this, Pandya has returned to the Indian team directly in the T20 World Cup.
Vikram Rathod said, ‘Hardik performed well. He is bowling well in the practice match and in the practice sessions as well. He is fit to bowl the full four overs and is bowling accurately at a good speed which is a good sign.’
India’s next match is against Pakistan on 9 June. Pakistan has to face America before the match against India. America defeated Canada in its first match.
