The Taliban, which seized power in Afghanistan, has dissolved the Human Rights Commission in the country itself. Questions are being raised on this decision of the Taliban’s government, notorious for humanitarian crimes. Apart from this, 4 other departments have been abolished by the Taliban government. The Taliban government says it is short of funds. In such a situation, it will not be easy to run these departments. The Taliban said the country was facing a budget deficit of $501 million. That’s why they have been closed. Not only this, the Taliban has termed a department like the Human Rights Commission as unnecessary.
The department related to the constitution has also been closed
“These departments were not very important and were not included in the budget,” the Taliban government’s deputy spokesman, Enamullah Samangani, told news agency Reuters. That’s why they have been dissolved. Apart from the Human Rights Commission, the department that was dissolved is the Commission set up to implement the Constitution. The Taliban took power in Afghanistan in August last year. The Taliban then claimed that it would incorporate generosity into its governance model. However, the Taliban has made its intentions clear by dissolving the departments related to human rights and constitution.
Taliban told why they have closed their departments
Not only this, the concerns of human rights activists have also increased due to this move of Taliban. The five departments that the Taliban have closed include the National Reorganization High Council and the National Security Council. The Taliban government has presented its budget for the first time since taking power in Afghanistan and has cut funding for several institutions. The Taliban says that we have presented the budget to achieve the necessary objectives. However, the Taliban said that if these departments are needed in the coming times, then they can be started again.
