New Delhi. The Government of India has extended the 1984 batch Punjab cadre IPS officer, Research and Analysis Wing chief Samant Goel, for a period of one year from his present tenure till June 30, 2023. Also, Special Director of Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka has been appointed as Director of Intelligence Bureau for a term of two years.
According to media reports, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet also approved the appointment of Tapan Kumar Deka as the new Director of Intelligence Bureau. Tapan Kumar Deka, a 1988 IPS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre, will assume office for a two-year term from June 30.
