EVs have been given to the officials associated with the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, more than 6000 vehicles of Tata Nexon are running across the country
New Delhi, Aug 17 (IANS) | Automobile maker Tata Motors has handed over 10 Nexon electric vehicles for use by senior Gujarat government officials as part of its tender agreement with EESL. According to the company, these officers are associated with the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat.
The Nexon EV is equipped with a powerful and high-efficiency 129PS permanent-magnet AC motor, powered by a high-capacity 30.2 kWh Lithium-Ion battery. It comes with a dust and waterproof battery pack, which meets IP67 standards. In addition, it offers 35 mobile app-based connected features ranging from remote commands, vehicle tracking to driving behavior analytics, navigation and remote diagnostics.
“Tata Motors is playing an active role in the adoption of electric mobility in the country,” the company said in a statement. “The company is working closely with Tata Group companies including Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Auto Components, Tata Motors Finance and Croma, to contribute to the rapid adoption of EVs through the EV ecosystem in India, Which is called ‘Tata Universe’.” At present, the Nexon EV has a market share of around 70 per cent in the fast growing electric vehicle market. Presently, there are over 6,000 Nexon EVs plying on the roads of India.
