Some time back, Tata Motors started booking the CNG variants of its popular vehicles Tiago and Tigor. Now the company has also got the first glimpse of the CNG variant of the hatchback Punch, which was launched some time back.
Where was it seen?
The CNG variant of the Tata Punch was recently spotted in Tamil Nadu. The first glimpse of this car was seen during road testing. Although it was covered with camouflage cover.

When can you knock in the market?
The company, however, is yet to reveal the official timeline related to the launch of the CNG variant of the punch. But it is clear from seeing during testing that this car can knock in the market in the first half of 2022. This will not only strengthen the company’s CNG lineup, but can also see an increase in sales.
Design and Features
Although the design, exterior and interiors of the CNG variant of the Punch have not been revealed, it is likely that it will not get any changes from the base variant. Talking about the features, like the base variant, the CNG variant also gets power steering, automatic climate control, anti-lock braking system, front fog lights, heater, accessory power outlet, cruise control, rear parking sensors, engine start/stop button, USB port and many other great features will be seen.

Engine and gearbox
According to the report, the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine can be seen in the CNG variant of the Punch, which is also in the base variant. With this, the car will get 84.48bhp power and 113Nm torque. Being a CNG variant, the car will get more mileage than the base variant. Also, like the base variant, there will also be a 5-speed gearbox with manual and automatic transmission options.
How much can be the cost?
The starting price of the base variant of Punch is Rs 5.49 lakh. In such a situation, the CNG variant may have to pay a higher price than this.
