The T20 World Cup is to be organized in West Indies and America this year. Team India can be announced soon for this tournament. Players for the tournament will be selected on the basis of their performance in the IPL. Meanwhile, former star player of Team India Irfan Pathan has given a big statement regarding the selection of players. He has told that two wrist spinners should be selected in the team along with five specialized bowlers. The last date for team selection is May 1st. Due to which the discussion regarding the election of Team India has intensified.
What did Isfan Pathan say?
While talking to Star Sports, Pathan said that you need five good bowlers which are very important. What are your wicketkeeping options? When you are talking about playing Ravindra Jadeja at number eight and as a spin all-rounder, then I would say that two wrist spinners should be played. He said that I would like to see two wrist spinners playing in my playing 11 which would be Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav. If you look at Bishnoi’s statistics, he was very good when he played.
Bumrah’s election decided
Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan was not in favor of taking Yuzvendra Chahal of Rajasthan Royals for the World Cup. He said that currently we are talking about Chahal because of his IPL performance but fielding cannot be forgotten. You have to create balance in fielding. Pathan further said that it is natural to choose Jasprit Bumrah among the bowlers. He said that there is only one fast bowler about whose selection you can be sure and that is Bumrah. But apart from Bumrah, you need at least two fast bowlers who can be a part of the playing 11 continuously. The biggest problem for the Indian team is the fast bowling unit. It is very important to decide, hence experience should be given importance. Pathan said that along with Bumrah, you can see Mohammad Siraj and Arshdeep Singh, which does not seem to me anything special but right now this is the only option you have.
