New Delhi. Teesta Setalvad had hatched a conspiracy to implicate the then CM and current PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah in the Gujarat riots case. Teesta had colluded with a big opposition leader for this. In this case a huge amount was also received from that leader. There is evidence for this. This claim has been made by the Gujarat government in an affidavit opposing the grant of bail to Teesta Setalvad in the Supreme Court. The Gujarat government says that Teesta was not arrested after the Supreme Court order. The government already had evidence against him. Let us tell you that today at 3 pm, the Supreme Court is going to hear the bail application of Teesta Setalvad.
Teesta Setalvad, former IPS Sanjiv Bhatt and former IPS officer RB Sreekumar, who was the DGP of Gujarat Police, were arrested following a Supreme Court verdict. All of them were arrested by the Gujarat Police for fabricating evidence to implicate innocent people in the 2002 riots in Gujarat. All the accused, including Teesta, did not get bail in this case even from the Gujarat High Court. Teesta has now told the Supreme Court that on the basis of its decision, wrong arrest was made and bail should be given. On this, the Gujarat government in its reply has claimed to have sufficient evidence against the accused.
After the arrest of Teesta, there was talk of having a relationship with Ahmed Patel, a veteran Congress leader and conspiring to implicate all the people including Modi and Shah at Patel’s behest. Ahmed Patel’s family had denied these allegations. Please tell that Ahmed Patel is no longer alive. The Gujarat Police had said in the affidavit given in the High Court that Teesta and Patel together tried to fabricate evidence in the Gujarat riots. The accused themselves wrote the statements of the victims and after getting their signatures produced them before the SIT. Now this afternoon Chief Justice UU Lalit, Justice S. A bench of Ravindra Bhat and Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia is going to hear Teesta’s bail.
