Because of this he needs frequent external blood transfusions. This disease is painful not only for the patient but also for the relatives of the patient.
Dr. Santosh Gemanani said that due to this disease being genetic, it continues in the family from generation to generation. To get complete information about this disease and to avoid Thalassemia and sickle cell anemia before marriage, the health horoscope of the boy and the girl should be matched.
If the parents are suffering from thalassemia or sickle cell anaemia, then the baby can be diagnosed with the disease by examining the baby within the first to four months of pregnancy. By taking special precautions, we can prevent it from passing on to the next generation. Dr. Pradeep Sihare said that there is a possibility of stem cell treatment for Thalassemia.
