Lakhimpur Kheri case accused Ashish Mishra’s sword is seen hanging on the bell. The Supreme Court has decided to hear on April 4 the petition filed for cancellation of bail of Ashish Mishra, accused of ramming a car on people during the farmers’ agitation. The incident took place in Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3 last year. The court said on Wednesday that the committee constituted by it has also recommended cancellation of the bail of Ashish Mishra. This committee was formed to keep an eye on the incidents of Lakhimpur Kheri.
Earlier on Tuesday, the reply of the Supreme Court notice was given by the Uttar Pradesh government. The UP government was asked by the Supreme Court whether it had opposed Ashish Mishra’s bail in the High Court. On this, the UP government said that the bail application of Ashish Mishra, accused of crushing the farmers with a car in Lakhimpur Kheri, was strongly opposed. On behalf of the families of the deceased farmers, the bail of Ashish Mishra has been opposed by filing an application in the Supreme Court. On this, the court had issued a notice to the UP government, in response to which the UP government had said this. Apart from this, the UP government also rejected the allegations of the family members of the farmers that VIPs were allowed to go and only the witnesses were not protected.
The UP government said, ‘The allegation that the UP government did not oppose the bail of Ashish Mishra in the Allahabad High Court is completely false. His bail application was strongly opposed by the UP government. Apart from this, the government has also rejected the allegations of attack on a witness in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. The UP government said that the attack on the witness was not a conspiracy, but due to mutual enmity. Yogi Sarkar said, ‘Full security is being given to the families and witnesses of the victims of the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. Armed security personnel have also been given by the government to the witnesses.
