The country’s leading automaker Tata Motors has been launching Black / Dark editions of all its models for the last 3-4 years. Which is also benefiting the company. In this sequence, it seems that now the company is trying to capitalize on the Dark Edition of Safari. In fact, today on social media, Tata Motors has released a teaser video of the Dark Edition, which may be available for Safari. The company has seen a lot of success with the Dark Edition of its models like Nexon and Harrier. After which the company is now preparing to launch the Dark Edition of Tata Safari.
There will be no mechanical changes in the 2022 Tata Safari Dark Edition. The Dark Edition will be launched in an all black color scheme similar to the current model in terms of interiors and exteriors. Key highlights of its design include Piano Black color with the car getting several dark monikers, including a dark highlight on the seats. On the other hand, the alloy will also get the charcoal black treatment, although no change is expected in the design of the alloy wheel.
Safari Special Edition launched earlier
It is worth noting that the Dark Edition will not be the first special edition of Safari. In the past, we have already seen Gold Edition and Adventure Persona. The addition of the Dark Edition will further enhance the appeal of Safari in a segment that is getting crowded day by day. The direct rivals of Safari in the Indian market are models like Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar.
Currently, the standard Safari price ranges from Rs 14.99 Lakh to Rs 23.19 Lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Talking about the price of Dark Edition, it will be similar to Adventure Persona/Gold Edition. It will cost a bit more than standard Safari though. At the moment, it is not clear whether the Dark Edition will be launched in both a 6-seater configuration or a 7-seater configuration.
