Akhilesh Yadav, who took Jayant Chaudhary, OP Rajbhar and his uncle Shivpal Yadav along in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, seems to be falling alone after the defeat. On the one hand, there is speculation that uncle Shivpal Yadav will join the BJP and he is angry about not being invited to the SP meeting, while on the other hand Azam Khan’s camp is also being said to be angry. Azam Khan has been the biggest Muslim face of SP and was very close to Mulayam Singh Yadav. He has been in jail for a long time and his supporters are now openly expressing their displeasure.
Azam’s close friends target Akhilesh Yadav
In Rampur, SP’s media in-charge Fasahat Ali Khan directly targeted Akhilesh. Akhilesh Yadav kept silent when Muslims were sent to jail and their properties were confiscated, he said. He has also said that SP has won 111 seats with the votes of Muslims only. He also said that Muslim voters had a major contribution in making Akhilesh Yadav or Mulayam Singh the CM of the state. This was the first time, when Azam Khan’s camp has said something like this against Akhilesh Yadav. Since then there are speculations that Azam Khan may also leave the SP. Apart from this, there are also discussions about forming a separate party.
Why are people speaking openly against Akhilesh Yadav?
In such a situation, the question is, what is the reason for such rebellion against Akhilesh Yadav? In fact, the crushing defeat of the Samajwadi Party in the UP elections has created differences among the coalition partners, while on the other hand, internal rebel voices have started emerging in the party as well. This is because Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav lacks suitable positions to accommodate his leaders. He could have given the post of Leader of Opposition in the UP Assembly to someone, but now he has taken this responsibility himself. Apart from this, his trust remains in Naresh Uttam Patel as the state president.
Why is Akhilesh not speaking much about Azam Khan?
The top post, both at the organizational and legislative levels, is not vacant. In such a situation, it is like a big setback for the supporters of Azam Khan, who have now completely gone into the background. Not only this, the absence of Azam Khan in any major post can also be seen as a wrong message among the Muslim community. On the other hand, Akhilesh Yadav’s strategy is that he should not appear too aggressive on the issue of Azam Khan because in doing so the BJP can accuse him of Muslim appeasement. This strategy of his did not get the benefit in the assembly elections, but after the defeat, it is definitely suffering.
