Jaipur. Lok Sabha elections have been held in two phases in Rajasthan. In both these phases, the elderly in the state prevailed over the youth in terms of voting. This time during the Lok Sabha elections, elderly voters appeared to be more aware than young voters. They have voted more than the youth. The data released by the Election Commission after both the phases of voting clearly shows that the young voters of 18 to 19 years of age did not come to vote with the same enthusiasm as the elderly voters of 85 years of age and above did their duty. . These elders have voted 7 percent more than the youth in Rajasthan.
A total of 67.07 percent voters in the age group of 85 years and above voted in 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan in both the phases. There were 5.71 lakh voters registered in this age group. If the youth had gone to the booth, the voting percentage would have increased.
Analysis of the voting percentage data in Rajasthan makes it clear that this time if the youth had voted like in the Assembly, then the voting percentage in the Lok Sabha would have increased compared to earlier. But the challenge for the Election Commission is how to make the youth more aware about voting.
