Gujarat has decided to make Kevadiya a fully electric city, the decision taken by the central government to give subsidy
With the changing times, everything keeps on changing. With the changing times, the vehicles also keep on changing. After the discovery of wheels, the first animals used to drive vehicles. After which the motor engine was researched and with the invention of petrol-diesel, the existence of petrol-powered vehicles came to the fore. But with the passage of time these wells of petrol and diesel have also started drying up and at the same time the problem of pollution due to their use also started coming to the fore. As an alternative, now the era of electric vehicles is starting to mark the beginning of a new era. The problem of pollution can be reduced to a great extent by the use of electric vehicles, so the government is also encouraging more and more people to buy electric vehicles.
To increase the purchase of electric vehicles, the government has announced to increase the subsidy for electric two-wheelers. The subsidy for electric two-wheelers has been increased to 15000 per kwh by the government. The government has taken this decision to encourage the sale and production of electric vehicles in India. Due to which electric two-wheelers will become even cheaper. It is worth mentioning that before this, the Gujarat Government has also decided to make Kevadiya city a complete electric city to encourage electric vehicles. Kevadiya will be the first city in the country, where only electric vehicles will be seen.
This decision of the government will benefit such customers who are planning to buy electric vehicles. India’s ‘Ather Energy’ company is the first company, which has started giving the benefit of subsidy to its customers. Due to which the price of the company’s 450x electric scooter has now come down by Rs 14,500. Tarun Mehta, CEO and Co-Founder, Ather Energy, said that the per kwh has increased by 50 percent after the revision of the FAME-2 policy. Despite the pandemic, there has been a significant increase in the sales of electric two-wheelers. They think that after this decision of the government’s subsidy, it may increase further.
Talking further, Tarun Mehta said that although the benefit of this scheme will be available only in some vehicles. Under this scheme, subsidy will be given only in those vehicles, which should have a drive range of 80 km. Apart from this, its maximum speed should be 40 kilometers per hour. Apart from this, 75 percent of the vehicle should be indigenous.
