Kathmandu: A female mountaineer of Nepali origin has done wonders. The female mountaineer has climbed the world’s highest peak Mount Everest in less than 15 hours. The Nepali origin climber has become the first female mountaineer to do so. According to sources in the Tourism Department, Phunjo Lama of Gorkha climbed the 8,848 meter high peak at 6:23 am on Thursday and made a record of climbing Everest fastest among female mountaineers.
Lama broke the record of Hong Kong mountaineer
According to a tourism department official, Lama started climbing from the base camp at 3:52 am on Wednesday and reached the peak at 6:23 am on Thursday. She reached the peak from the base camp in 14 hours 31 minutes. She broke the record of Hong Kong’s Ada Tsang Yin-hung who reached the summit of Everest in 2021 in 25 hours and 50 minutes.
Amazing feat of Nepali mountaineers
It should also be mentioned here that Nepal’s legendary mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa had earlier created history on Wednesday by climbing Mount Everest for the 30th time. Sherpa had broken his own record of climbing the world’s highest peak the most number of times 10 days ago. Kami had recently climbed Everest for the 29th time. (Language)
