Two days ago in the plane crash, the late CDS General Bipin Rawat was cremated with full military honours. He and his wife Madhulika Rawat were cremated together. Both the pious souls were lit by their daughters Kritika and Tarini. Both the daughters of General Rawat performed the respective traditional rituals before the remains of their parents were carried for the funeral in artillery. Along with this, he was given a 17-gun salute.
Let us tell you that the last journey of General Rawat started from his official residence and his last rites took place at the Berar Square funeral site in Delhi Cantonment. Thousands of people paid tribute to him with slogans like ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘General Rawat Amar Rahe’ as the last yatra gathered.
Let us tell you that after the death of the country’s first CDS, his wife and 11 other army personnel in the crash of a Mi17V5 helicopter near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu, there is an atmosphere of mourning in the entire country.
As India’s first CDS, General Rawat was tasked with theater command and bringing about jointness among the three wings of the Army. The mortal remains of General Rawat and his wife were kept at their official residence before being taken for the last rites so that people can pay their respects. Various personalities of the country reached General Rawat’s official residence 3, Kamaraj Marg to pay their last respects to him and his wife and pay their heartfelt tributes.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and several other dignitaries today laid wreaths on the mortal remains of General Rawat and his wife.
