new Delhi . Amid the ongoing debate over the film “The Kashmir Files”, the BJP on Sunday said the film has started talks and it should be allowed to go ahead. Targeting former Union Minister and Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, BJP’s National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santosh said it is better to leave the narrative and dialogue to take shape on their own.
Quoting a tweet by Ramesh, Santosh said leave the narrative and conversation to take shape on their own. Kashmir Files has started talks. Let it proceed. Let’s see what else it does with hatred, pain, revealing the truth.
On Saturday, Ramesh had tweeted that some films inspire change. Kashmir Files incites hatred. The film distorts propaganda facts, distorts history to incite anger and encourage violence. Confessions heal wounds. Preachers take advantage of fear.
The film’s director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri tweeted, “Jayarammesh ji why don’t we debate this. Public will get to know your point too. A film should start a conversation.”
Earlier, the BJP hit out at former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and asked which part of the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ he found to be untrue.
The former chief minister has reportedly said that ‘The Kashmir Files’ is not entirely factual and that many lies have been shown in the film.
BJP’s national in-charge of Information and Technology Department, Amit Malviya asked which part of ‘The Kashmir Files’ does Omar find to be untrue? The fact that his father Farooq Abdullah resigned as CM on 18 January 1990, further exposed the massacre. Kashmiri Hindus are helpless since January 19, 1990. Didn’t he order the release of 70 ISI trained dreaded terrorists?
