The number of students who want to study medicine in India is more than 1 lakh, but 60 to 65 thousand seats in front of it, even after good merit, the chances of getting admission in any medical college in India are less.
There is a war going on between Russia and Ukraine and due to the ongoing war between these two countries many students from India and Gujarat who went to Ukraine for MBBS studies are now stuck in Ukraine. In such a situation, many people are saying that the reason for the students being trapped is that people are sending their children to study abroad. People should educate their children in the country itself, but a report has revealed that MBBS education in Gujarat is very expensive. In such a situation, becoming a doctor abroad is much cheaper than that.
According to a report in Khabarche, if a student wants to study in MBBS in a government medical college in the state, then he has to get a high rank. In such a situation, if you get good marks and get admission in a government college, then the student has to pay the fee of only 25 thousand years. In comparison, students from the state in private colleges have to pay an estimated annual fees of more than Rs 20 lakh for medical studies. Accordingly, in 5 years of studies, a student has to spend 1 crore or more to become a doctor. In comparison, in a country like Ukraine, if a student goes to do MBBS, then complete education is done at a cost of Rs 22 lakh. This cost also includes all student expenses including board and lodging education.
At the same time, only 5508 seats are available for the students taking admission in the medical field in the state and the number of students seeking admission in front of it is more than 15 thousand. One reason for this can also be that the students of Gujarat go to study MBBS in a country like Ukraine. It is also being told that more than two thousand students from Gujarat and about 20,000 students from India go abroad to study medicine every year. The number of students who want to study medicine in India is more than 1 lakh, but there are only 60 to 65 thousand seats in front of it.
In this regard the Vice President of National Indian Medical Association, Dr. Vijay Popat said that he prefers to study abroad even though he has a low percentage. Getting admission in foreign college is easy. It is also being said that even if you have more than 500 marks in a medical college in Gujarat, there is less chance of getting merit and complete 5 years MBBS abroad is completed free of cost equal to one year’s fee. There are 5508 medical college seats in Gujarat. Out of these 210 seats are for All India. 4443 seats are for government colleges and 265 for management quota and 590 for NRI seats.
