New Delhi. India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that Monday was a hot day in Delhi. The maximum temperature was recorded at 37.1 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees more than the average temperature of this season. At the same time, the residents of Bengaluru are not getting respite from the heat. IMD said that there will be no rain in the IT hub for the next one week. A temperature of 37.2 degrees was recorded here on Sunday.
IMD said that the humidity level in the national capital ranged between 21 percent to 68 percent. Delhi is likely to remain partly cloudy on Tuesday, while the maximum temperature is expected to be 38 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 18 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, IMD said that there was light rain in the interior of Karnataka, but the weather remained dry in the coastal areas. There is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu and Mysore districts on Tuesday, the weather will remain dry in the remaining districts.
A temperature of 37.2 degrees was recorded in Bengaluru on Sunday. On Saturday, the capital had broken the record of the last eight years with a temperature of 37.6 degrees Celsius. IMD scientist A. Prasad said that there is a possibility of very light rain in some parts of the state during the next one week.
According to the state health department, 569 cases of heat-related illness have been reported in Karnataka till April 7. In view of the rising temperatures in the state, doctors have advised people not to go out without covering their heads and to drink adequate amount of water to avoid heatstroke.
People have to face severe heat in many parts of Karnataka. Kalaburagi district recorded the highest temperature in the state at 42.7 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The temperature reached 43.1 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 43.3 degrees Celsius on Friday.
