Controversy seems to be increasing once again regarding the application filed by Hindu organizations in the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shadi Idgah dispute. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police has asked the Mathura administration to remain alert while giving an advisory on Wednesday. After this, not only Agra-Mathura but 8 districts of the zone have been asked to take extra vigil.
ADG (Agra Zone) Rajeev Krishna told TOI on Wednesday that they have issued instructions for all the 8 districts of Agra Zone, which includes Mathura. He has asked to ensure security not only at the disputed site but everywhere.
The ADG said that the police chiefs of all the eight districts have been asked to keep a close watch on anti-social elements. He said, “If anyone tries to disturb social harmony in the name of religion, action will be taken against him immediately.” Meanwhile, Mathura SSP Gaurav Grover said that security has been beefed up in the district. All efforts are being made to maintain peace and order.
Police have stepped up security at a time when a fresh petition has been filed by Dinesh Sharma of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha in the Court of Civil Judge (Senior Division). He has said that being a Hindu, he has the right to worship in the Idgah as it was a temple earlier. He said, “I have the right to worship as per the Constitution.” Some other petitions have also been filed, seeking a ban on the entry of Muslims in the Idgah and permission for the Jalabhishek of Laddu Gopal here.
