New Delhi, After the Lok Sabha elections, now everyone’s eyes are on the Lok Sabha Speaker’s election. Because it will decide how much power the government and the opposition have. Earlier it was believed that the opposition might come together in the Lok Sabha Speaker’s election and the Lok Sabha Speaker will be elected unanimously. But according to sources, the opposition’s strategy is something else. India Alliance is thinking about fielding its own candidate. If this happens, then there can be a fierce battle in the Lok Sabha Speaker’s election.
In fact, a day earlier, the government appointed seven-time MP Bhartruhari Mahtab as the temporary Speaker of the Lok Sabha, i.e. Protem Speaker. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju gave this information. The Protem Speaker will administer the oath to the MPs. A panel has been formed to assist him, which includes Congress leader K. Suresh, DMK leader TR Balu, BJP’s Radha Mohan Singh and Faggan Singh Kulaste and Trinamool Congress leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay.
angry about what
According to opposition sources, the opposition is angry with the government’s stance on the deputy speaker and the pro tem speaker. In such a situation, it is almost certain that the opposition will field a candidate for the post of speaker. If the opposition fields its candidate, then there will be a need for a floor test in the Lok Sabha. Because voting will have to be done and then it will be known how much strength the ruling party and the opposition have.
Bets played earlier too
Since the Lok Sabha elections, the opposition has been continuously betting on the post of Lok Sabha Speaker. The leaders of the All India Alliance appealed to JDU chief and Bihar’s Nitish Kumar and TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu to put pressure to make their own person the Lok Sabha Speaker. But when this bet did not work, both the parties made it clear that they will support whoever is the NDA candidate, after which the opposition has started thinking about fielding its own candidate.
Why is this post so important
The Lok Sabha speaker has unlimited powers. He has the right to decide which member can address the parliament or raise questions in the house. Most importantly, he can accept or reject any law which the government wants to pass as a money bill. Most importantly, his role becomes very important at the time of majority test. In such a situation, if the speaker is from the opposition, then it becomes very difficult to run the business of the house.
