He is the head of the Botany Department in Charan Singh University and has been continuously teaching students about Ayurvedic plants and botany for the last 25 years. He tells that papaya leaves also have various types of medicinal properties, which are very beneficial for health.
Leaves are a panacea for dengue patients
According to Prof. Vijay Malik, various types of medicines including Vitamin A, Vitamin C are found in the leaves of papaya tree. Its leaves can also be eaten by chewing them raw. Also, one can extract juice from its leaves and use one or two spoons daily. It is a panacea for dengue patients. Because the medicinal properties found in it are considered very useful in thickening the blood while balancing the platelets. Also, Vitamin A and C along with protein are also found in abundance in it. Which is very beneficial for health.
Both raw and ripe fruits are useful
Prof. Malik says that both raw and ripe papaya fruits are useful for health. Because it helps in improving digestion by eliminating stomach related diseases. Due to which any kind of disease does not arise due to clean stomach. He says that therefore people can make vegetables from raw fruit and use it as food. Its ripe fruit can be eaten as a fruit.
These people should not use the leaves
Prof. Malik says that patients who are suffering from heart or high blood pressure should not use papaya leaves because it can prove to be dangerous for them because it thickens the blood. Whereas if there is a heart disease patient, he uses various types of medicines so that his blood remains thin. Therefore, heart disease patients should stay away from its leaves.
