UP: Less rain in 7 districts
The name of Uttar Pradesh is also included in the state with the least rainfall in the country. There has been very less rainfall in UP so far. The situation is that heavy rains are still awaited in 31 districts of the state. There are 13 districts in the state where only 40 to 60 percent rain has been received so far. Seven districts of the state have received less than 40 percent rainfall. The local Meteorological Center says that there has been good rainfall in Western UP in the state, but there has been less rainfall in Purvanchal and Central UP. Here Deoria, Pilibhit, Mau, Kushinagar, Chandauli, Basti and Mirzapur are the districts where the rainfall is less than 40 per cent.
Bihar: 40 percent less rain
Even in Bihar, the monsoon is still sulking. So far this season, the record of rainfall in the state has not been completed. The Meteorological Department says that we will have to wait for the rains in the state. The lack of rainfall can be gauged from the fact that the entire state has received 41 per cent less rainfall than normal. At the same time, there are 22 districts in the state where there has been 40 per cent less rainfall. In the capital Patna itself, it rained 50 percent less than normal. Due to lack of rain, the problems of the farmers of the state are increasing. The state received 238.3 mm rainfall during the period from June 1 to July 21. This is 41 percent less than the normal rainfall of 405.7 mm. There is a possibility of light rain between July 21 and July 27.
Jharkhand: Drought-like situation
Drought-like conditions are being created in Jharkhand due to less rains. Jharkhand is witnessing a drought-like situation due to 45 per cent deficient rainfall. Despite the peak monsoon season, about 85 per cent of the agricultural land in the state has not sown crops. Jharkhand has recorded 45 per cent less rainfall till July 22. The state has received 229.3 millimeters (mm) of rain from June 1 to July 22. While the normal rainfall during this period is 414.9 mm. 12 districts of Jharkhand are facing rain deficiency of more than 50 per cent. While Chatra and Jamtara have recorded the maximum deficiency in rainfall at 75 per cent and 67 per cent respectively. Only three districts Sahibganj, Godda and Simdega have recorded normal rainfall so far.
Meghalaya: Below average rainfall
Meghalaya has also received below average rainfall this season. The name of Meghalaya is also included in the four lowest rainfall states of the country. However, Meghalaya is the state which receives the highest rainfall in India. Mawsynram and Cherrapunji are the places in the state that receive the most rainfall. The state received above average rainfall in June. In June, it received 1039 mm of rain against an average of 842 mm. The situation has changed in July. In the current situation, the quota of rain here is less than the average.
