Dr. Shweta Khurana, District Consultant in Noida Tobacco Control Cell, said that two places in Noida are becoming hubs of tobacco or tobacco products. Here, college going students not only smoke cigarettes, but will also be found smoking electronic cigarettes.

Challans issued to 282 students
The Tobacco Cell of Noida district has issued challans to a total of 282 students from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024. These are the students who were found smoking within a radius of 100 meters from the college campus. Whereas in other places the number of smokers would be in thousands. Of these, 176 challans have been issued to students of only one well-known university.
These two places are at the forefront of smoking
Dr. Khurana says that the area of Top University and Knowledge Park around Sector 125 in Noida is at the forefront in smoking. There are more than 70 private institutions around the Knowledge Park. Where students smoke. They not only smoke cigarettes but many cigarettes are also filled with hashish and ganja.

Dr. Shweta says that tobacco and cigarettes are very harmful for the youth. NCORD, the committee formed under the leadership of DM, is continuously making students aware about this.
