Australian team’s opening batsman Travis Head has seen excellent performance with the bat in the last one year. Head was successful in continuing his same form in the 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Now Head surprised everyone in his statement in which he explained why he wants to focus more on playing Test cricket and will only participate in 2 T20 leagues for now. Due to Head’s performance, the Australian team was successful in defeating the Indian team in the final of the World Test Championship and the final of the ODI World Cup.
Every year you prioritize what you can and can’t do.
Travis Head, whose bat has seen a total of 533 runs so far in the 17th season of IPL, said in his statement to news agency PTI that this is my first season in IPL after 2017. At this time I will concentrate completely on playing Test cricket and I will continue to do so. Right now I would love to come back here for the IPL next year. This year I will play Major League Cricket in America right after the T20 World Cup but things may be different next year. You plan every year in which you decide what you have to do and what not. The Australian team has to play more Test cricket next year, in which we will tour the West Indies and perhaps due to this I may not be seen playing in other franchise leagues.
Will play more T20 leagues after retiring from Test cricket
In his statement, Travis Head further said that as long as I am playing Test cricket, I want to play in only 2 T20 leagues, but once I say goodbye to this format, I would like to limit myself to franchise cricket only. Regarding his performance, Head said that I continued to perform better in this season of IPL but I still have to work on my batting.
