The CNG variant accounts for about 41% of the total sales of the Ertiga. In terms of fuel, between April 2012 and October 2021, a total of 344,174 units of the Ertiga have been sold in diesel variants, 297,285 petrol and 57,756 units of the recently launched CNG variants. This means that the diesel-engined Ertiga (so discontinued from April 2020 when Maruti took the diesel engine off the market) accounted for 49.22% of the total sales.
In the past, there was a huge jump in the prices of petrol in the country, in many cities the prices of petrol had hit a century. After which people were increasingly vocal towards other fuel options. While it is still early days for the CNG-powered Ertiga, it looks like the eco-friendly variant is quite successful in making its presence felt. Of the 65,174 Ertiga cars sold between April-October 2021, CNG variants accounted for 26,783 units, or 41%, while the remaining 38,391 units were from petrol variants only. How is the Maruti Ertiga:
The Maruti Ertiga comes in the market with a total of four variants, which cost between Rs 7.96 lakh to Rs 10.69 lakh. The company has used the K15 Smart Hybrid petrol engine of 1.5 liters capacity in it. Which generates power of 103bhp and torque of 138Nm. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual and automatic torque converter transmission. Its CNG variant generates power of 91bhp and torque of 122Nm.

The company has given features like projector headlamps, fog lamps, LED tail lamps, 15-inch wheels, 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and CarPlay and push-button start/stop in this MPV. Apart from this, the Ertiga also gets ventilated front cup holder, rear AC vents with auto climate control and a reverse parking camera. Safety has also been taken care of in this car.
