It is consumed especially in summer. Sharbat prepared from Phalsa provides relief from heat and it prevents dehydration by keeping the body cool from within. Nutrients like carbohydrates, fiber, iron, phosphorus, sodium, potassium and vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B3 are found in it.
Controls electrolyte imbalance
The huge amount of iron in Phalsa keeps the blood flow smooth. This reduces the possibility of iron deficiency anemia. Consumption of Phalsa is also beneficial for problems like fatigue and dizziness. The rich sodium content in Phalsa balances the levels of sodium, potassium and chloride in the bloodstream, thereby improving transmission of nerve impulses and muscle activity.
Beneficial for diabetics also
The anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties present in it provide relief from joint pain and conditions like arthritis and osteoporosis.
