In this regard, Dr. Makrand Kumar Mishra of AYUSH Department of Hazaribagh (BAMS experience 24 years) tells that Bael is a fruit rich in medicinal properties. Most of us make sherbet and consume wood apple, but the fruit of wood apple is more beneficial than sherbet.

He further said that although wood apple proves beneficial in many diseases, it is especially advised to consume it in diseases related to stomach and heart. Apart from this, wood apple has the ability to reduce swelling, it is more effective in jaundice, ulcer, increasing immunity etc.

Doctor Makarand further explains that wood apple is a panacea for digestion and cholesterol. Vine contains abundant amount of fiber, which is very helpful in strengthening the digestive system. Apart from this, wood apple helps a lot in clearing frozen cholesterol.
