New Delhi: Modi government at the center is running many welfare schemes for farmers. There are many such schemes by taking advantage of which farmers are earning profits in farming. A similar scheme is being run in the country to promote farming. The name of this scheme is Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana (PM Kusum).
Under this scheme, farmers are being given huge subsidy for installing solar pumps. Under Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana, farmers can install solar pumps on their fields or barren lands at 60 percent subsidy. The objective of this scheme, along with pollution-free irrigation, will also help the farmers to earn regular income without tension for 25 years.

This scheme was started in the year 2019
Under this scheme, farmers get solar panels at subsidy. With this they can generate electricity. After using as much electricity as they need, they can also earn extra income by selling the remaining electricity. PM Kusum Yojana was started in the year 2019, after which this scheme is being continuously expanded.
How can I get benefits?
Under this scheme, farmers have to pay only 10 percent of the amount for installing solar panels on their land. Central and state governments give 60 percent subsidy amount to the farmers in their bank accounts. In this, 30 percent and 30 percent subsidy will be available from the Center and the states. There is a provision of 30 percent loan from the bank. Farmers can easily repay this loan from their income.
