The country’s leading vehicle manufacturer Mahindra recently launched its new sport utility vehicle XUV700 in the domestic market. The company took the wraps off this SUV in August last and after announcing its prices in September, its bookings started in October. This SUV made a splash as soon as it came in the market and due to the tremendous demand, its waiting period has reached almost 1.5 years.
According to a report published in Express Drives, customers may have to wait up to 75 weeks for the delivery of some variants of the XUV700. There is no doubt that this SUV is getting tremendous response from the customers, it can be gauged from the fact that so far it has been booked for 70,000 units, out of which around 50,000 units have been booked since the start of booking. Was booked within just 3 hours.
Know how much is the waiting period:
According to media reports, you will have to wait around 25 to 27 weeks for the petrol variant of its base model MX and 35 to 37 weeks for the diesel variant. On the other hand, the waiting period of 28 to 30 weeks for petrol variants of AX3 and 50 to 52 weeks for diesel is available. The waiting period of 51 weeks to 52 weeks is being said for both the petrol and diesel models of the AX5. Apart from this, there will be a wait of 65 to 75 weeks for the AX7 variant.
Why the waiting period has increased:
Mahindra XUV700 has been prepared by the company after long research, there are many advanced features given in it that you will get to see for the first time in the segment. Apart from this, its build quality is also very good, it has got a 5 star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. The demand for this SUV is very high due to better looks, advanced features and seating capacity.
Although demand is not the only reason for increasing waiting period, it is also due to lack of semi-conductor cheap components in the world market and supply chain. Many automakers of the country are struggling with this problem, it is directly affecting the production and delivery of the vehicle. Perhaps this is the reason why customers have to wait a long time for Mahindra XUV700.
How is the new Mahindra XUV 700:
The company has introduced this SUV with both petrol and diesel engine options. It is powered by a 2.0-litre mStallion four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates 197 hp power and 380 Nm torque. While the diesel variant gets the mHawk engine of 2.2 liters capacity, its base MX variant generates 153 hp power and 360 Nm torque. At the same time, other variants provide torque of 420 Nm with power of 182 hp.
All these engines have been given 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission gearbox. At the same time, the top automatic variant of the diesel is also available with an all wheel drive system. Its price is between Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 22.99 lakh. In the market, this SUV mainly competes with models like Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus.
