New Delhi. Even today’s architects are surprised to see the architecture and uniqueness of ancient buildings built around the world. Today, the development of technology has made these tasks easy, but even in the absence of technology in the old times, the fine workmanship made on high-rise buildings and the exact position and direction on the scale of architecture compels one to wonder. Today we are going to tell you about a similar temple located in India, which has been tilted 9 degrees on one side for hundreds of years. Located in Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi city of Uttar Pradesh, this temple is known as Ratneshwar Mahadev. People from all over the world come here to see the amazing architecture of this temple. Due to the historical importance of the temple, this temple is considered superior to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The residents here consider the temple a miracle of Lord Shankar. Let us tell you that while all the temples situated on the Ganga Ghat of Varanasi are built on the upper side, the temple of Ratneshwar Mahadev is built below Manikarnika Ghat.
The most amazing thing in this is that this temple is situated on the banks of river Ganges and is submerged in water for more than six months every year. Due to the rise of the water in the Ganges and the temple being submerged in water, worship can be done in this temple only for two-three months. Many tales and stories are also prevalent about the temple. Some people call it Kashi Karvat and according to some people, someone built Ratneshwar Mahadev temple to get rid of the debt of his mother. But due to the crookedness of the temple, he could not get rid of his mother’s debt. Apart from this, this story is also prevalent that ‘Ratna Bai’, the maid of Queen Ahilyabai Holkar, had a great desire to build a temple of Lord Shankar in front of Manikarnika Ghat in Kashi, for which she had borrowed money from Ahilya Bai Holkar.
After the temple was built, Ahilya Bai Holkar was very pleased to see its beauty and asked the maid not to give her name to the temple, but the maid did not listen to her and the maid Ratna named the temple after her name as ‘Ratneshwar Mahadev Mandir’. . Ahilya Bai Holkar got angry with Ratna’s statement and cursed her that the worship in the temple would be very less. It is believed that this is the reason why the temple remains submerged in water for most of the time.
